The most common kind of lighting fixture that almost every household and offices use is the fluorescent light. The fact it is is so widely used is because it is undeniably the most cost saving kind of light fixture that gives the best ambiance in terms of really lighting up an area.
The Advantages of Using A Fluorescent Light.
The most advantageous aspect is the brightness. The light emitted by the fluorescent is white light as compared to the normal filament bulbs which emits a dull yellow light. Tough it has been argued that this kind of light can be more stressful on the eyes, the popularity has remained simply because of the fact that we can see clearly under such light.
Another big factor is die to it’s cost saving nature. A normal 40 watts fluorescent cost only a few cents per day in electrical cost and due to it’s brightness, less amount of lights are needed to light up. If compared with a normal 40 watts bulb, the ratio will be about 3 to 1 in the fluorescent lights favor when it comes to lighting up a room with the same area size.
Maintenance wise, the fluorescent can easily last more than 2 years. Some quality ones can last more than 5 years with the lights switched on for 24 hours. A new set of fluorescent light cost only a few dollars and parts can be replaceable. Most parts are also easily and readily available in most electrical outlets and supermarkets. Replacing the faulty parts are also so easy that even a common housewife will be able to do it without calling in the electrician.
